You don't need to visit a jeweler to find your ring size. Our complete guide shows you three easy methods to get the perfect fit at home.
Why Getting the Right Size Matters
When a ring is too large it can slip off and get lost; too small and it won't go past the knuckle. For emotionally significant pieces like engagement rings, resizing later is certainly possible — but it adds cost and waiting time.
The good news: you can find the right size at home, in 5 minutes, with no special tools.
Method 1: Use an Existing Ring (Easiest)
If your partner already wears a ring on that finger:
| Diameter (mm) | US Size | UK Size | EU Size |
| 14.9 | 4 | H | 47 |
| 15.7 | 4¾ | J | 49 |
| 16.5 | 6 | L | 52 |
| 17.3 | 7 | N | 54 |
| 18.2 | 8 | P | 57 |
| 19.0 | 9½ | S | 60 |
| 20.0 | 11 | V | 63 |
Method 2: Paper Strip and Finger Circumference
Using a narrow strip of paper or a thin piece of string:
Divide that number by 3.14 to get the diameter, then use the table above.
Practical Tips
- Time it right: Fingers are thinnest in the morning and swell in the evening and in hot weather. For the most accurate measurement, mid-day is best.
- Aim slightly larger: The ring should slide over the knuckle with mild resistance. Sizing down is usually easier than sizing up.
- Secretly measuring: If it's a surprise, ask a mutual friend, or borrow a ring while they're asleep to trace it.
- Ask us: At Pırlanta Ustası we send a free sizing guide and comparison chart to all customers — just message us.
What If the Size Is Wrong After Purchase?
Pırlanta Ustası offers one free resizing within 30 days of purchase. Gold and platinum rings can typically be sized up or down by two sizes. Note: full pavé eternity bands cannot be resized — please discuss this with our team before ordering.
